Quenza
Over the last few hours, the late spring thunderstorm had begun to move on. It had dropped a few inches of cold rain onto the plains, soaking everything in it's path. With little cover the equines and other wildlife alike had to either stand bottom towards the wind, head down...or they had to try to hide anywhere they could find.
In the few remaining flashes of lightening that lit up the evening sky, Quenza watched as small animals darted to and fro. Happy that the storm was finally over. Moving slowly from her hiding place behind a large dead tree that managed to block most of the wind. Once the mare had entered the opening of the plains once again, she shook quickly. She'd had managed to stay mostly dry throughout the whole ordeal and was now thankful as the wind begin to pick up.
Chills began to run under Quen's skin as she headed towards the lower level of the plains. There was a slight slope and it would aid in blocking the wind from keeping her chilled. Slapping her long two toned tail against her flank as she walked on. It had been days sense she'd seen her last equine. Mare, 3, slightly crazy...yeah she hadn't had any luck there.
From the time she left her father's herd two years ago, Quenza had been on the trail of the lost heir. Only once in her search had she thought that she might actually be on the right path. Now she wasn't so sure she even knew why she was here, there was no proof that the heir was even still alive...only the hope that she felt. Knowing that she had to find a way to help set everything right.
So with a loud snort and a quick shake of her head, Quen's different colored eyes searched over the land in front of herself. Nothing in sight...like usual. Quen was becoming use to that disappointment, but there was nothing she could do unless keep moving.
