V U L K A N The dappled sunlight reaching through the trees made the shadows of the jungle dance about as if they were alive, and the stallion sulking through the forage looked like nothing more then an extremely large cat. The light provided dapples that moved upon his back, as well-muscled limbs crumbled the plants unfortunate enough to fall below his hooves.
Vulkan believed in a bit of solidarity and thought the jungle was the perfect place to get away from the speed of everyday life. Although he had not been in the land of Hilzaria very long, he was ready to deem the jungle his favorite place. The plants here were thick, with enough forage underfoot and fruit-bearing trees surrounding to feed an army for several months.
Lifting his muzzle, he bit into a mango, shuttering slightly at the sticky sweet taste. The juice inside ran down his chin and gathered around his whiskers before dripping off. His feet seemed a bit antsy, and he pawed at the ground quite a bit, trying to be as quiet as possible.

Damali was a long way from home, probably further than she'd ever really been, but it was a good reason. To her, at least. She couldn't take the cold of the more northern territories any longer and moved down to Oneca to stay until the weather became bearable. But perhaps now that she'd had such an enjoyable time down here where no other horses could really find her if she didn't want to be found.
She trotted down one slightly overgrown path, her white tail high and waving back and forth. Today was an enjoyable day for her, nothing had really gone wrong for her on this particular day and she'd decided to take a little jaunt into Feyval for a little extra taste of paradise. The sound of birdsong and insect buzzing just completed the effect of her surroundings and she gave a happy little buck, picking up her pace and even humming a little.
{ooc} got distracted and lost my train of thought. have this semi-crappy post in exchange.

His mango now finished Vulkan sniffed around, much like a wolf looking for leftovers. The land of Feyval was full of all sorts of wonderful scents, and he wanted to take them all in. This would perhaps make an excellent home, it was quite nice after-all. The temperature warm, and the humidity moderate, there were animals and food in all shapes and sizes though horses were somewhat scarce. What a perfect place to get lost.
A faint humming came to his ears, the voice like that of an angel. "What is that wonderful sound?" he asked himself, looking in the direction the hum came from. Due north, making a quick spin on his hind quarters he launched forward into a slow canter. Since trees were heavy here, he could not keep up his pace for long. Slowing to a trot, he weaved in between the trees until he came to a trodden down path. The humming was loudest here. Unsure if he should move or not, Vulkan parted his lips and let out a coarse whinny, piercing the air sharply.
ooc- haha, no worries XD

Damali heard the call and stopped instantly, turning her head this way and that to see if the source was visible. Her ears swivelled also, unsure of where the horse was, exactly. Deciding they were still hidden by foliage somewhere, the mare responded with her own whinny. If they really wanted to find her, then they would. Especially if it was a stallion making the attempts to find her. It was their jobs to find mares, was it not? It was not Damali's responsibility to find horses that wanted to find her. She could handle going through this territory by herself for the rest of the time she stayed here. That was the point of visiting a paradise, right? Solitude and tranquility. And another horse, especially a strange horse, could ruin that for her.
She contemplated moving from the spot just so the horse couldn't find her. Then she could finish her vacation as she wanted it without being disturbed by another horse, but rather than doing that and being rude, Damali stood where she was, glancing about every so often to see where this horse would be approaching from. Flicking her silvery-white tail against her white-speckled flanks, she bent her head and itched the bridge of her nose on a black foreleg, slowly growing impatient.

Standing patiently on the path, unsure of where to go, he waited on a return call from the carrier of the beautiful voice. He eyed the various fruits hanging near him, reaching out to nibble at the leaves of a pomegranate tree, before plucking a fruit delicately from its' branches. A monkey yelled from somewhere overhead, and Vulkan lifted his head trying to see where it was. A large brown monkey swung high overhead, gripping vines and swinging himself through the jungle like Tarzan.
A sweet whinny pierced the air, and his ears instantly pricked themselves in the direction of the voice. He trotted up the path in her direction, anxious to see if her looks matched her voice. He stopped as he saw a clearing up ahead, with a stunning dappled mare standing alone. That had to be her, and she was indeed, beautiful. He walked the remaining distance to her, nickering a warm greeting. "Hello there, I'm Vulkan." he said with a nod, "What is a mare of your beauty doing here alone?"
ooc - sorry for the long awaited reply. i haven't had much muse
