In the year 2010, a group of scientists, researchers and environmentalists marked out a new conservation park in an area of the African Savannah and called it Shydan, after Diana Shydan, the woman whose idea this had been. The idea was to create a safe and protected area, free from poachers, where breeding populations of African lions could be encouraged to multiply naturally, increasing the endangered species' chances of survival. The only problem; lions had been chased out of the region by poachers some while ago.
Thus a group of 200 or so wild animals were brought in from surrounding lands. Each was tagged and given a brief health-check, then they were left to fend for themselves. The whole lot were dumped in the new Shydan Park, the males in the desert-like portions, the females in the lands that bordered it, and left to fend for themselves. Some will die, certainly, but it’s hoped that most live long enough to pass on their genes to their offspring.
But if they’re going to survive in this harsh land, they’re going to have to come together, and none of these cats know each other. It’s going to be a difficult road, and a long time before everything settles into some semblance of normality. Rules | Home | Advertising [/size]
