Seasonal Writing Challenge! In the lovely world of role playing, life can become sort of, well, repetitive. Especially when it comes to horses, because they can only ever do so much. For instance, they can't up and go to a coffee shop for a skinny vanilla cappuccino now can they? There are limited spaces and limited actions that can be played out with equine characters, and so I thought that it might be a good idea to shake things up a bit and give everyone something different to write about.
Now, the rules are as follows:
1. Your entry may be a story, journal, essay, newspaper article, or any other type of prose. Please no poetry, unless you're dying to do some.
2. Your entry must be 300 words long minimum. 500 words max so we don't have to read huge posts (save that for your threads!).
3. Your entry must have some relation to the topic. Please don't just throw it in there as a last resort. For example, if the topic was apples, don't just say that your character walked by a bowl full of apples and then never mention them again. That defeats the purpose of writing about a topic.
4. NO CRITIQUING. Not on this thread. Critiques can be harsh sometimes, and this isn't about hurting someone's feelings. If you really feel the need for a critique, PM the person you want feedback from, and be prepared for the good and the bad.
Topics will be posted at the beginning of each IC season (aka every three weeks) so that real life and IC posting can still be top priority. At the end of the three weeks, we will vote on a) most original and b) most well written. I'm sure everyone has a chance to be voted either of those!
Alright, all set? Here we goooo!
Prompt 1 (August 19 - September 10 [yes, it's longer cause we're starting mid-season])

Andrea put a hand to her mouth with a ragged gasp. Plus sign. Positive.A positive disaster. “Andrea?” There was a soft knock on the bathroom door. So Brandon had been passing by at that moment. “You okay?” His kind tenor voice was usually a welcome sound, but right now Andrea wanted to crawl into a hole and die. “Yes, I’m fine.” Andrea replied. “I just cut myself.” “On what?” Brandon asked, sounding slightly amused. Andrea couldn’t tell him the truth. Her husband didn’t want kids. He wanted to wait and get his schooling done. She couldn’t blame him; a surgeon had a lot of classes to take. She gave some answer without thinking as she tore up the box and buried it in the trashcan. “Toilet paper?!” Brandon was laughing now as she realized she’d just give the stupidest answer she could possibly give, short of water. Andrea blushed. “I meant the roll thingie…” She tried to amend herself. “Should I come tend to your wounds soldier?” Brandon teased. “No, I’ll live.” Andrea replied, sticking the second test in her pocket and covering it with her shirt as she came out. “I hope.” Brandon said, pulling her into a kiss. “I have to go, you be careful okay?” “I will.” Andrea replied, forcing a smile. After he left, Andrea sat at the table, trying not to cry. It was like her whole world was coming crashing down around her. This was not supposed to happen. She was a good person, she’d waited until marriage and they had been careful to use protection, but then she recalled their mistake. It was an accident, and she feared it was going to ruin her life. She wanted nothing more than to tell Brandon what happened, but she feared he’d hate her or leave. She began to think of her options, and a way that she could dispose of this mistake without Brandon ever having to know. Could she live with herself though? Could she go through with that? She wasn’t sure what to do.
Word count: 342 Muse: Obviously dark and sad. Critique: I welcome constructive criticism from anyone, just in a PM as Silver said. Other: If muse allows I may add more if the prompts will work.
