This is the logbook of the Lioness, where she keeps all of her little phantom creatures. Look around, be nosy, I won’t bite even if I am a lion, and if you have any ideas for my beauties, tell me.
In Brief:
- Io - 5 year, 15.0hh, dark golden dun mare
- Running Like Quicksilver - 2 year, 17.2 hh, bay based grey colt

Running Like Quicksilver The Very Basics -Name: Running Like Quicksilver Meaning: Quicksilver is another word for liquid mercury. Otherwise it’s self explanatory. A.K.A: Quicksilver, Silver, Sil Gender: Colt Age: 2 years Height: 17.2 hands A Sight For Sore Eyes - Coat: The hair of Silver’s body is medium-length and smooth, lying flat against his body, while that of his main and tail is coarse and thick. At birth, Silver would have been called bay, but his mother seemed to know what she was doing when she named him for he grows paler with every passing season. Currently he’s a rather tatty dappled grey-brown, but then he’s an adolescent, and tattiness is to be expected. His colour is improving, soon he will appear the same shining white as his father.
Build: Silver is a draught-type coldblood, a big heavy thing reminiscent of what we would call a Percheron. He has a broad, round barrel supported by comparatively short but very well-boned, wide-set legs. He hasn’t yet filled out fully and might still be called a little lanky, but already hints to future strength are present in his bulky shoulders and his thick, muscular neck.
Head: A strong proud head is what Silver has. He has quite a long but broad nose, not at all dished, that ends in a soft grey muzzle with wide, flaring nostrils. His forehead is also wide, with his warm brown eyes gazing out from the side with a perpetually friendly, innocent expression. His ears are quite small but pert and flexible. And in the Heart -Likes:
- Company
- Play-fighting
- Laughing
- Foals
- Sunshine
Dislikes:
- Stallions who mistreat their mares
- Rain
- Feeling hungry
- Races
- Being alone
Ambitions:
- Leading his own herd
- Having many healthy children
- Being known throughout the five kingdoms
Fears:
- Dying alone
- Losing his mares in a fight
- Having to swim (can’t do it)
Overview: Quicksilver is nothing more than a friendly, kind-hearted young horse with optimistic outlook on life and a playful demeanour. He can sometimes come across as a little cocky or arrogant, for he’s a bold and playful young thing who treats everyone he meets with the same familiar attitude, but really he’s just being his ordinary gregarious self and trying to get along with everyone else. He’s not aggressive by nature, and is one of the few stallions who has no qualms about co-existing with other adult males, provided they don’t mind him, of course. All he really wants is a herd where he can raise his family; this is his aim in life.
Stance on the Five Kingdoms: So long as it doesn’t impact him directly, Silver isn’t bothered about what happens. Obviously he thinks it’s terrible that so many horses have died, but the fact thay were kings and the descendants of kings does not factor in his thoughts. He feels remorse for the loss of life, that’s it. Blood Matters -Mother: Sparkling Quicksilver Father: Running Like Rain
Maternal grandmother: Ice In Sunshine Maternal grandfather: Mysterious
Paternal grandmother: Rain Paternal grandfather: Running Like The Falcon
Full siblings: Running Like The Stars (m), Sparkling Rain (f) Who You Know -Favoured mate: None Other mates: None
Sons: None Daughters: None
Friends and Allies: None And Our Pasts Haunt Us - History: Silver was brought up by his mother in a small but peaceful herd led by a single stallion. His early years were thus spent playing with the other boisterous young foals and learning from his mother, who was something of a herd elder due to her wisdom and knowledge. He was brought up to be a good young horse; to not fight unless he had to and to treat mares well, and by the time he was two he was a happy and good-hearted soul.
However, like many young colts, it was around this time that he began to feel the urge to move on. He knew he couldn’t stay in his birth herd for much longer, and so finally he chose to leave. He currently lives in the badlands, training himself to ever-increasing feats of strength, waiting until he’s ready to claim some mares and found a herd of his own. As for the search for the lost king, he’s ambivalent to it all; so long as he still has grass to graze and water to drink, he’s fine.

Io The Very Basics -Name: Io (EYE-oh) Meaning: In Greek mythology, Io was a priestess and one of Zeus' lovers. A.K.A: Just Io Gender: Mare Age: 5 years Height: 15.0 hands A Sight For Sore Eyes - Coat: Io takes great pride in her coat, and well she might. Her body hairs are very short and very smooth to the touch, but it's their colour that's truly impressive. She appears as a rich dark red-gold colour that, when properly clean, has a bright metallic shine to it, not unlike that seen on horses that we would recognise as Akhal-Tekes. Her main and tail are both quite sparce, but at least this helps keep them tidy. They're both black.
Build: Io is a lithe, fast creature, built for speed rather than strength. A hotblood, she has long, fine-boned legs and a narrow body, though her chest cavity is large to allow for the great breaths of air she takes while running. She's generally in good proportions; though some might say she's a little more built up in the back than the front, she's a handsome specimen overall.
Head: Io has a dramatic, noble head. Fine-boned and narrow, it's long and straight, neither convex nor concave, and ends in a warm black muzzle. Her dark brown eyes are quite small but nevertheless are good at making her look fierce. Her ears are quite long but narrow. And in the Heart -Likes:
- Family
- Being in charge
- Running
- Bathing
- Sunshine
Dislikes:
- Stallions who mistreat their mares
- Stupid horses
- Being ignored
- Mud
- Whining horses
Ambitions:
- Being the lead mare in a herd
- Finding a herd to settle into
- Helping to restore the monarchy
Fears:
- Being attacked
- Being trapped with a stallion she doesn't like
- Getting too old to run
Overview: Io, it must be said, is something of a bossy cow. She likes to be in charge and likes it when others do as she tells them. Short-tempered and often grumpy, she can't stand horses that whine and complain and will simply tell them off, regardless of their age, gender and social rank. As far as she's concerned, she has the highest social rank anyway. For all her bossiness though, she is at least sensible, and her advice is worth at least worth considering. She also happens to be kind at heart and rather maternal, though she wouldn't admit it. She likes to take weak or troubled horses under her wing and help them find themselves, even though she does it all under the name of getting them to stop their damn complaining.
Stance on the Five Kingdoms: Io feels very strongly that the monarchy should be restored. She's often says that she's going to find out who the murderers are and kill them, and while she's not being serious, it does show the strength of her feeling. Blood Matters -Mother: Merciful Father: Heracles
Maternal grandmother: Lilly-White Maternal grandfather: Baranthar
Paternal grandmother: Alcmena Paternal grandfather: Glordux
Full siblings: None alive Who You Know -Favoured mate: None Other mates: None
Sons: None Daughters: None
Friends and Allies: None And Our Pasts Haunt Us - History: Io was born in a herd in the lands of Kireg, a herd made up of the some of the horses of Balden's original herd, that had clubbed together after his death for safety. She recently left the herd, though, as a new took over and she simply couldn't stomach him. She doesn't believe the rumours about a last heir, and laughs at those that do, but she would be delighted if it turned out to be true and order was restored Hilzaria. She quielty hopes that if there ever is a king again, he will chase off the stallion that drove Io away so she can rejoin her birth-herd.
