Welcome to The Last King, a wild horse forum based solely on realism. Anything that is not realistic cannot exist here and horses here rely on nothing but themselves and those they can trust. The herds here are ruled by five kings and only five. If you're not in a herd then you're not welcome in their territories. Just like in the wild, there are dangers here to be cautious of. But there are horses starting to play god and after the supposed deaths of all royal blood in Hilzaria, there are rumors that there is one left. Horses quest to find this horse to put them in their rightful throne while others seek to kill this heir. Who will find The Last King first?

Early Summer temperatures have dropped from late Spring due to sudden storms that have sprung up. Hardly a day passes without at least one shower occuring. Large thunderstorms are a weekly event and have the potential to get very dangerous with lightning strikes and winds that can break branches from trees. Stay low and safe, everyone!

Kireg is the name of the northernmost territory in Hilzaria and is also the coldest. It belonged to the late king Belden who was a very proud stallion that expected nothing less than perfection. It is an expansive tundra-like climate with hardly any trees and the few trees that survive here are large and coniferous. At the southern border with Renshaw Copse, there is a denser forest of conifers that mesh slightly with the redwoods of the main forest, but borders are clearly drawn between the two territories. Winter is the harshest season in this territory and it is difficult for any large herd to survive the full season. However, the summers are much more wirth it to live here as it is cooler than the other territories and much more bearable compared to other territories' summers.
Renshaw Copse is a giant forest full of ancient and giant Redwoods. The forest melds slowly from the coniferous trees of Kireg until there is nothing but Redwoods. This land previously belonged to the king named Valon, who prided his ability to keep secrets and also be secretive. The wood is completely silent of nearly any and all wildlife, though predators still exist here, preying on horse meat. There are quite a few different areas not completely packed with trees that are filled with grass. There are also a few small streams scattered throughout the territory that provide water for the horses. The forest stretches right to the base of the Artegal Peaks and even climb a small distance up the mountains.
The Artegal Peaks are the large mountain range that take up almost all of the western side of Hilzaria. The mountains were owned by a great (in both size and manners) stallion by the name of Trahern, who ruled with confidence and a gentle voice. Most mountain sides are steep, rocky, and dangerous but there are also quite a few that are more gradual and safer to climb. The valleys are grassy and scattered with trees and small rivers. Mostly this seems like one of the more gentle, peaceful territories, however there is a silent killer located here that has taken the lives of so many horses, both young and old: Golden Eagles. They have been known to pick up foals and drop them off cliffs or attack fully grown horses with talons and beaks when no foals are available. Horses of the Peaks must be constantly vigilant for any sound of wings on the wind.
The other half of the Free Lands is made up of land meant for bachelor stallions. As with the Misty Plains, the Badlands allow mares in, but it is not recommended for a mare to be caught up with testosterone-fueled bachelor stallions. This area is not quite as lush as the Misty Plains but it is also not as dried out and arid as the name sounds. It is a scrubland with plenty of grasses, though a bit more coarse and tough than normal, and tough trees that can withstand the heat and dry air. Oases are also extremely plentiful here, giving relief to the common heat.
The Misty Plains are a specific area laid out in the middle of Hilzaria, meant mainly for free mares. Stallions are welcome here when they are looking for mares to bring into their bands. The terrain here is mostly open grassland with a few scatterings of very small forests. There are also smatterings of creeks and small rivers that supply the area with water. However, what gives the Misty Plains their name is the almost constant haze that covers the land. It is especially thick in the mornings and evenings, lessening in the afternoons, but no matter the season the mist is always here.
For horses that are in a band but do not want to live on another stallion's territory, then they may stay in the Everglades. This land is waterlogged, but has many larger areas of firm, solid ground so horses can stay dry. Most of the year this area is warm, though becomes extremely humid in the Summer and pretty chilly in the Winter. This territory has its dangers, including alligators, wild boars, anacondas, and other poisonous snakes so it is not for the faint of heart or young horses that don't know what they're doing. Overall, however, it is not a bad place to live if you want your own life.
The Kehto Fields are just as they sound: A large expanse of grass, almost like a sea of long, waving grass of both green and golden colors. The Fields once belonged to the king Avital, who was not only as open as his territory, but also as easy-going and flexible as the many lakes that scatter the whole territory. In fact, a good area of the fields are filled with small lakes, making some parts more like a marsh than an open grassland. Large herds of bison roam here and bulls have been known to kill a horse that got too close to a herd. Bears are also not uncommon in the right areas.
Oneca is literally the paradise of Hilzaria. It is a beach surrounded by a dense jungle full of fruit trees and vines. If you can make it through the many winding, criss-crossing paths of the jungle, you will end up on an expansive beach, almost a mile wide before it reaches the shore. Oneca was owned by the only queen among kings, Kawena, who valued her mares above all others. It is possibly one of the best-protected territories, but also one of the most beautiful. White sand beaches, blue-green waters with palm trees, large bluffs on the opposite side of the beach from the jungle, and a nearly constant sea breeze. It is constantly warm here, no matter the season, though it can get dangerously hot and humid in the summer.
